We are currently recruiting for a Machinery & Equipment Expert in newly created permanent position! Working in Thompsons Kiwifruit operations this is a hands-on role helping to plan and coordinate machinery as well as stock and spray and fertiliser programmes. The successful candidate will be working closely with a team of experienced Kiwifruit Managers and Machinery Operators.
Thompson’s Horticulture Ltd (THL) is a family owned and operated business, involved in the management of approx. 100 hectares each of Kiwifruit and Grapes, spread between Opotiki and Gisborne with 60 permanent staff and upwards of 70 seasonal staff. We offer employment opportunities in Machinery Operations, Kiwifruit Operations, Grapes and Orchard Development areas.
This is a full-time role where you will be responsible for centralising our stocktake process and repairs and maintenance programme.
You will have good practical knowledge and able to operate orchard machinery as well as strong skills in planning and reporting. An understanding and experience in Horticulture fertiliser and spray application programme is preferred. You will be a problem solver with good communication and organising skills.
