Vineyard Operator 204 views

Leaderbrand Produce is one of New Zealand’s largest and most diverse horticultural businesses.  A significant part of this is our vineyard and subsequent wine production; based in Gisborne, the operation covers 240ha of Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer vines.

Due to ongoing expansion we are seeking to attract a machinery operator to join our dedicated team in Leaderbrand’s viticulture department.  We have a modern, well-maintained fleet of vineyard machinery; a dedicated team and full workshop support.

This is a full time permanent role and requires a tractor operator with experience using a range of vineyard machinery.  Applicants will need to have proven machinery handling skills and strong practical ability, and be prepared to assist with any role within the vineyard when required.  A part of the role involves operating vineyard spray equipment so experience in this as well as a Growsafe certificate would be beneficial but is not necessary as full training will be given.

You will need a can do attitude, good time management as well as the ability to work unsupervised.  Flexibility and the willingness to work long hours at peak times of the year is a must.  We can offer exposure to a broad range of viticultural techniques and practices as well as a solid career path with the opportunity of advancement.  Pay rates are competitive and will depend on the experience of the successful applicant.

If you believe you possess the skills required to join one of Gisborne’s leading viticulture businesses then we need to hear from you.
